workers as a group and train them together. Students
will attend an orientation session where they have
the opportunity to apply for Social Security Cards
and discuss the cultural and legal aspects of working
in the United States. They will then travel to their
employers.
Please contact CCI for updated information on our
arrival dates.
WHAT IS THE WORK & TRAVEL PROGRAM?

CREATING
A CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING
Every day the world gets a little smaller. The World
Wide Web, faster communications, and the ever-expanding
media are bringing the many cultures of the world
closer together. Since 1985, the Center for Cultural
Interchange has helped to develop greater cross-cultural
understanding through a wide variety of cultural exchange
programs for teens, college students and adults.
THE WORK & TRAVEL PROGRAM
This exciting program allows international college
students the ability to work in the United States
during their main vacations from school! The program
is designed to enable American employers the opportunity
to diversify their workforce, while offering international
students an inside perspective on American working
life. CCI is designated by the US Department of State
to sponsor international students who wish to participate
in the program.
CCI
WORK & TRAVEL PARTICIPANTS
CCI Work & Travel Participants are college age
international students (18-28 years old) who are currently
enrolled in post-secondary studies in their home countries.
These students are screened for appropriate English
language proficiency and ability to function in a
work environment. Participants enter the USA on J-1
Work/Travel visas, which allow them to work legally
for a period of up to four months. This may also permit
the students to travel in the USA for 30 days after
the work period.
